TOOGO wasn't born in a lab. It was born in the field — from a network of inbound operators who finally wanted a tool built for them. Here's our story, and the people who write it.
From Latin America to Lisbon, fifteen years in the field.
TOOGO is the culmination of a long journey — made of trials, an owned failure, and a rebirth. The story, unfiltered.
- 1999
The birth of Terra Group
A handful of French partners create and grow Terra Group, a network of inbound operators specialising in adventure and tailor-made travel in Latin America. These were the early days of the web — and of "à la carte".
- 2005
The multiplication
Agencies multiply, needs explode. A unit led by Fabrice Pawlak, based in La Paz (Bolivia), is tasked with building tools made for tourism: Word and Excel are no longer enough. A close partnership forms with Dragnux, a firm of IT engineers.
- 2008
Entering Big Market
A team is brought together to launch the company EMAGINE. After a year and a half, it fails: the wrong technology choice, the wrong database architecture. They start from scratch.
- 2009
The phoenix
EMAGINE is wound down and the project is reborn on fresh foundations: a new company, TOOGONET, 100% web open-source technology, a new data architecture. Fabrice Pawlak becomes project lead. Today, the shareholding brings together nearly 20 people of all nationalities, all from tourism or web engineering.
Eleven people, one shared obsession.
Inbound operators, engineers, travel enthusiasts — most ran an agency or worked in the field before joining TOOGO. Everyone carries an official title… and one all their own.
